The Amsterdam Museumboat — why drive when you can float?

Amsterdam Tourist Information • March 23, 2007

Visit Amsterdam’s Museums by Boat

Amsterdam is a city of many canals — and taking a trip in one of the glass-topped tour boats is an almost mandatory part of any visit to the city.

However, sightseeing is not the only reason to take to the water. Traveling the city by boat is also a convenient way to get around.

The Museumboat has some added avantages. Not only do get a unique view of Amsterdam — a city many say is best seen from the water — but along its route the boat docks at various stops, allowing your to disembark as well as re-board at a later time.

This allows you to do some sightseeing, to shop, get something to eat and drink, or visit a museum — the latter at a discount:

Sniffing up culture, shopping and being transported by boat? Now that is possible with the unique Museumboat! The Museumboat sails along the most beautiful and amusing spots in Amsterdam. The whole day round.

This boat departs according to a fixed time-schedule from and to seven top locations, like the Music Theater, the Rijksmuseum, the Anne Frank House, the Maritime Museum and not to be forgotten, the Central Station.

Besides visiting museums, obviously you may disembark for a nice shopping spree. While sailing, you will be told about the extraordinary sights and all the things worth knowing about Amsterdam.
