Amsterdam police arrest three people in weapons store burglary

DutchAmsterdam.nl — Amsterdam police have arrested three people in relation to a burglary at a sports weapons store in Amsterdam-West last July.

Of the 180 weapons that were stolen only a few have been recovered, Novum reports.

The stolen weapons included hunting rifles and heavy caliber guns.

A 38-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were arrested three weeks ago. A week later police also arrested a 40-year-old man. In the interest of detective work the arrests have only just now been announced.

Police say more arrest may follow.

Police has not revealed whether one or more of the people arrested was employed by the Shooting Westpoint, but the store has countless security measures in place both inside and outside the building.

The shop’s door was opened with a key, and the alarm had been disconnected. — DutchAmsterdam.nl
