DutchAmsterdam.nl — Hours before the World Cup final match between Holland and Spain will take place Amsterdam’s Museumplein — the largest square in the city — has already colored orange.
Police report that at 4:45 pm more than 10.000 people are already partying at the square — most of them dressed in Holland’s iconic orange color.
The square is said to comfortably hold 30.000 people. Police and city officials advises those who are still on their way to turn around and see the match at home.
The square sports a big screen, and four additional big screens have been set up around the perimeter so that the overflow crowd will still be able to see the match.
Big screens have also been set up at other squares in the city — but those squares have also reached capacity.
Local news station AT5 also spotted one lone fan dressed in red and yellow — the color of the Spanish team. The brave man, who lives in Belgium and hails from Portugal, has been welcomed as a hero.
