Several operators of boat tours through the canals of Amsterdam have halted services Wednesday.
The decision was made in part because most of the tour companies’ normal routes have been restricted in order to allow Amsterdammers the rare pleasure of ice skating the canals.
Even though the Dutch National Football Team did not win the World Cup last night, the City of Amsterdam will nevertheless honor the team with a tour through the city’s canals.
Initially the tour was planned only in the event that the Netherlands would have won the World Cup.
