Woman arrested on suspicion of hoax threat against Amsterdam stores

Amsterdam police The Netherlands National Criminal Investigation Service (Nationale Recherche) has arrested a 48-year-old woman in Amsterdam on suspicion of involvement with a hoax bomb threat last March.

In an anonymous phone call on March 11 to Amsterdam police the woman claimed to have information about an upcoming terrorist attack against several stores in South-East Amsterdam.

IKEA Amsterdam closed due to bomb threat Amsterdam police are taking bomb threats received this morning against IKEA and several other stores at the Arenaboulevard extremely seriously.

The shops remain close as military police and search dogs are checking them for explosives.

A large police force is in the area.

There is no word yet as to the source of the threats.
