A Muslim foundation run entirely by volunteers and financed by donations has rented Amsterdam’s most expensive office location — the historic Montelbaanstoren.

The prestigious office location is now home to Secret Garden, a foundation for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Muslims.

The City of Amsterdam is offering a 16th-century canalside tower for rent — on Marktplaat.nl, an auction site.

The Montelbaanstoren was built in 1516 as part of the ancient defense wall of Amsterdam. The tower lost its function when the city expanded, and is now for rent as office space.
