Amsterdammer and bicycle enthousiast Marc van Woudenberg says, “I witnessed a bicycle getting blown into the canal by the wind. My friend Suze and I ventured outside to salvage it, here’s what happened.”

Amsterdammers on bicycles are more dangerous than bike-riding tourist, says an Amsterdam police spokesperson.

“They leave home five minutes too late only to try and catch up along the way.”

Not all Amsterdam locals agree that cycling (or walking) tourists are not dangerous in traffic.
